Last January, my friends and I checked out the Ahopsan Bamboo Forest which is pretty far from the city center, probably a couple hours from our school, unlike other spots we've visited.
The bamboo forest trail is about a kilometre long and takes 30-40 minutes to walk through casually while soaking in the scenery.
The path was dense with bamboo trees and gave off a totally chill vibe.
Since it was outside the city, there was hardly any noise and not many people were there when we went!
The bamboo stalks tower high up, their leaves woven together to block the sun.
The ground was covered in fallen bamboo leaves, and the only sounds you could hear were the rustling of the bamboo leaves in the wind and birds singing.
It's an awesome place to unwind and escape the busy city life.
Along the trail, there are a few rest areas with benches where you can sit down and relax.
Some parts of the trail also have stunning views of the mountains nearby and Busan down below. The hike itself wasn't too tough either.
This forest is where they filmed a bunch of popular shows like my fave The King: Eternal Monarch—the scenes where the characters dash into a portal to a parallel world were shot here.
At the end of our little walk, one of the staff kindly gave us an impromptu tour of the forest entrance which has a ton of unique plants.
I really appreciated him explaining everything in detail with so much joy and passion.
I'd definitely recommend checking out the Bamboo Forest in Busan if you want to experience nature and chill surrounded by lush bamboo groves.
If I remember right, entrance was 5,000 KRW and I heard that the forest is open all year. Just make sure to wear comfy shoes and check the bus schedule so you don't have to wait too long for the ride back.
Keep in mind that since the forest is pretty secluded, the bus times might not show up on Naver Map or Kakao Map. But it's so worth it!

See you in the next one!
